Jesus 365 - November

November 1

The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.          J12:23-24  d

November 2

The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.          J12:25  d

November 3

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves me.          J12:26  d

November 4

Father, glorify your name!

'I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.'          J12:28

November 5

Now is the time for judgement on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.          J12:31  d

November 6

I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.          J12:32  d

November 7

You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.          J12:35  d

November 8

Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.         J12:36  d

November 9

When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.          J12:44  m

November 10

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.          J12:46  d

November 11

As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak on my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.          J12:47-50  m

November 12

The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.          L22:25-27  d

November 13

Unless I wash you, you have no part with me. Do you understand what I have done for you? You called me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.          J13:8 & 12-17  d

November 14

I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.          J13:20  d

November 15

Take and eat; this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.          Mt26:26 / Mk14:22 / L22:19  d

November 16

Take this and divide it among you. Drink from it, all of you. This is  my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you the truth, I will not eat or drink again of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you and it finds fulfilment in the Kingdom of God, my Father.          Mt26:27-29 / Mk14:24-25 / L22:16,17-18 & 20  d

November 17

Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.                   J13:31-32  d

November 18

A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.          J13:34-35  d

November 19

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.          J14:1-4  d

November 20

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.          J14:6  d

November 21

If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.          J14:7  d

November 22

Don't you know me... even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.      J14:9-11  d

November 23

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.          J14:12-14  d

November 24

If you love me, you will obey what I command          J14:15  d

November 25

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you for ever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.           J4:16-17  d

November 26

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realise that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.          J14:18-20  d

November 27

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.          J14:21-24  d

November 28

All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.          J14:25-26  d

November 29

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.          J14:27-31  d

November 30

I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he trims clean so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.          J15:1-4  d
